why i joined weight watchers.
More than five years ago, I lost close to 60 pounds with weight watchers. It really worked for me. Since then, I did pretty well maintaining the weight loss on my own.
I've done several whole 30s, eaten semi-paleo, and done a 21 day sugar detox, and all of these "ways of eating" I really did like, but were difficult to maintain long term.
The past year, I've been kind of up and down...with a pregnancy + grief thrown in there, I've found myself 20 pounds more than I want to be. My clothes are tight, I don't feel comfortable when I get dressed, and I just don't feel like myself. I'm eating whatever I want, making not so great choices, having unneeded cocktails too much, which all have me feeling pretty blah. I'm also wondering if my not so great food choices have something to do with why I'm not pregnant again yet (but that's a whole other blog post...)
It's time to do something. I know in the spring, I'm very active, so the exercise part for me isn't hard. It's about making good choices with my food. I really debated, do I need to pay for weight watchers, when I know I can do it myself? But can I really do it myself? If I can, then why haven't I? My darn ego tried to get the better of me and convince me not to do it.
But I pushed my ego aside and decided I needed to do this. I signed up last Friday and I'm not looking back.
For $40, I get 3 months of weight watchers online and the WW app (which I love).
I'm 2 days in and already, I feel a difference. I'm conscious of what I'm putting in my mouth. I'm feeling less bloated. I'm a little foggy, but I honestly believe that is my body and mind detoxing from all of the unhealthy stuff I was eating before starting. It's going to take some time to get back in the groove of eating healthy. Luckily, we're headed into spring and summer, where fresh fruits and vegetables are aplenty and I love to grow my own!
So tell me, are you struggling with your weight? Have you ever tried weight watchers, or any other weight loss program? What worked for you and what didn't? I'm always looking to learn from others!
