books i read in 2015

IMG_9557This year I kept a list of books I want to read, and books I actually read in the back of my planner. It's fun to look back at the year to see what I learned through books. Here's what I read (and remembered to write down) in 2015:

  1. Blink: The Power of Thinking without Thinking by Malcolm Gladwell
  2. Hardwiring Happiness by Rick Hanson
  3. Lean In by Sheryl Sandburg
  4. Essentialism: The Disciplined Pursuit of Less by Greg McKeown
  5. 5 Love Languages by Gary Chapman
  6. Better than Before by Gretchen Rubin
  7. Magic Art of Tidying Up by Marie Kondo
  8. Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert
  9. Wine to Water by Doc Hendley
  10. Womancode by Alissa Vitti
  11. Be Present and The Intuitive Way by Penney Pierce and (daily reading)
  12. Puppy training book by Charlotte Schwartz

At first glance, I thought to myself, that list is short. But, looking at it from another perspective, there are 12 books on the list, that's 1 book per month. If you ask me, along with everything else I've got going on, I think that's pretty good.  That's what I'll shoot for in 2016, read 12 new books.

Also, when I look at the quality and subject of the books I read in 2015, I see most of them are self improvement type books: to help me improve my relationships, live with less, be happy, inspire others, be present and healthy, and to continue to create a life I love.  I see that it really isn't about quantity of books I read, it's about quality.

And all of these were quality.

Did you read any quality books in 2015?
