books i read in 2015
This year I kept a list of books I want to read, and books I actually read in the back of my planner. It's fun to look back at the year to see what I learned through books. Here's what I read (and remembered to write down) in 2015:
- Blink: The Power of Thinking without Thinking by Malcolm Gladwell
- Hardwiring Happiness by Rick Hanson
- Lean In by Sheryl Sandburg
- Essentialism: The Disciplined Pursuit of Less by Greg McKeown
- 5 Love Languages by Gary Chapman
- Better than Before by Gretchen Rubin
- Magic Art of Tidying Up by Marie Kondo
- Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert
- Wine to Water by Doc Hendley
- Womancode by Alissa Vitti
- Be Present and The Intuitive Way by Penney Pierce and (daily reading)
- Puppy training book by Charlotte Schwartz
At first glance, I thought to myself, that list is short. But, looking at it from another perspective, there are 12 books on the list, that's 1 book per month. If you ask me, along with everything else I've got going on, I think that's pretty good. That's what I'll shoot for in 2016, read 12 new books.
Also, when I look at the quality and subject of the books I read in 2015, I see most of them are self improvement type books: to help me improve my relationships, live with less, be happy, inspire others, be present and healthy, and to continue to create a life I love. I see that it really isn't about quantity of books I read, it's about quality.
And all of these were quality.
Did you read any quality books in 2015?
