tupperware tuesday: butterscotch nibblers

IMG_2861 Butterscotch nibblers.

My kryptonite.

My mom made these when we were growing up, and they have been my favorite sweet treat for a long time. They are definitely comfort food for me and I can put back a whole pan in a day or 2....

Here's what to do...

Over low heat, melt 1 cup peanut butter and a 12 oz bag of butterscotch chips.  Make sure you keep the heat low and stir continuously to make a liquid.  It's very important to heat over low heat, and if you're curious why...just ask my sister. :)

Pour 1 box of crispix (8 cups) into a large thatsa bowl <--see what I did there?!?  And pour your melted butterscotch-peanut butter mixture over cereal and stir with your tupperware silicone spatula until all of the cereal is coated.

Measure one cup of milk chocolate chips.  Mix into cereal. The chocolate chips should not melt all the way, so if you think they might, wait a few minutes to let the cereal mixture cool.

Dump onto a foil lined cookie sheet and allow to cool and harden.

buttscotchnibbWith only 4 ingredients and simple instructions, this would be a great snack to make for a holiday get together or as a gift, given in a tupperware bowl!

Enjoy!
