Just a little bit.

I decided I wanted to write a blog post today, so I opened up my blog, looked at all of the drafts I have started in here, and none of them seem right.

I need to just let the words flow out today. I mean, I write every day for myself. I get those thoughts out on paper, brain dump all the crap that rattles around in my head all day, and use that space and time to gain perspective on things I might feel anxious or worried about.

I rarely share those writings here. Why? Because they are mine. And the internet is a wild crazy world, that we have little control over. But i also realize that sharing those little bits of me helps me create connection with those reading it. And truthfully, that’s my purpose. To share and connect.

I wrote this poem while we were up at Leech Lake last week, and I thought I would share it here.

A Little Bit

A little bit here

A little bit there

Little bits of healing

A walk by the lake

A moment to breathe

Silence. Stillness

Just being.

Little bits of laughter and joy

Little bits of smiles

Little moments that seem small

but make up your life.

Little bits of healing

sprinkled in your days.

A chat with a friend.

A hug from your love.

Just little bits of goodness

that slowly fill your cup

A cup that feels shattered and broken

and beyond repair

but those little bits of moments

somehow start to fill it up.

Little bits to feel. But only a little bit

because all the emotions would be

too much at one time.

That’s why you take it just a bit at a time.

You take small moments,

to heal just a little bit.
