It’s no secret, I love to learn. Books are my jam, so much so that I write them too.
I love bookstores, the library, and buying books.
I also love spiritual and self development, and learn so much from the books on my shelf. There are a few books that I consider reference books. and they are on my shelf to refer back to time and time again when I’m searching for meaning or looking for ways to grow and learn about a specific thing that happened to me.
The following are a few of the books I use on a daily/weekly basis:
Period Power by Maisie Hill
This is the Period Bible. She goes through each phase of your cycle and relates it to the seasons in nature. Reading about each phase and learning what I might expect based on what my body is doing at that time has give me so much awareness and permission to give myself grace when I’m feeling less than stellar. The information in this book has also helped me to love my cycle and embrace the changes that happen during each phase. If you want to know even more about loving your cycle, my friend Renata has a new program all about that. Reach out to her here.
Tarot for Change: Using the cards for Self care, acceptance and growth by Jessica Dore
I pull a tarot card every morning to give me some guidance for the day. Usually I interpret the cards based on what my intuition is telling me (and I still do this) and I added this amazing book to my routine. She takes all the things I love: psychology, habits, self care and woo and enmeshes them in short essays to make you think differently about each card and what it could mean for you.
The Moon Book: Lunar Magic to Change Your Life by Sarah Faith Gottesdiener
This book is what started my obsession with the moon. If you are totally into the moon and learning about her cycles, get this book ASAP. I love the feminine focus of this book, and the chapters following each phase where she shares moon magic have been a huge resource for me to try rituals, card pulls, and journaling to expand on my growth and understanding of the moon cycles and how they relate to my life. We will be using this book to dive into the phases of the moon more in depth starting July 17 in the Slow Down Space Membership.
Spirit Animal Guidebook by Dr. Steven Farmer
I am so connected to nature, and I receive messages via the animals that show up in my day to day. About a year ago, I was seeing turtles everywhere, which was a huge sign for me to slow down. And not long after that, the Slow Down Retreat was born. This book fits in your pocket, and is an amazing resource for learning how the animals that are showing up in your life may be delivering a message to you.
Angel Numbers Mastery by Sarahdawn Tunis
Have you noticed that sometimes you see the same number over and over again— like on a clock, house numbers, totals on receipts, etc? The numbers could be telling you something. I love this simple book about numerology and how repeating numbers are messages from angels and spirit guides.
Chakras for Self Care by Ambi Kavanagh
This book takes you through all seven chakras and gives so many rituals, meditations, activations, and guidance to support yourself through chakra and energy work. I used this book to create the summer solstice ritual I hosted and refer back to it often.
Heal Your Body, Mind, and Spirit by Renata Trebing
Based on the 5 layers of healing, and divided into body, mind and spirit, this book is chock full of tangible ways to heal your body through the 5 layers of healing. It isn’t just our physical body that gets diseased, it goes deeper to our energetic, and spiritual health too. My favorite part of the book is her recipes which are catered to support and nourish you for each chakra.
These are just a few of the amazing books out there to help you live your best life. Let me know if I forgot any books that you are loving too!
