4 ways to support your direct selling friend without spending any money

We ALL have friends or at least know someone that is selling some kind of direct sales product. It is a very popular way to make money these days.

According to the direct selling association, in 2017, 18.6 million people were in the direct sales industry.

It can feel like a lot, to be expected to buy from every one of your friends, host a party expecting all of your friends then to spend some money too.... but you still want to support your friend in their adventure! And sometimes, we just don’t want the product that they have (or don’t know we want it yet-ha!).

Here are 4 things you can do to still support your direct selling friend without spending any money:

1. Refer a friend: maybe you don’t love the product, or it doesn’t fit in your lifestyle or you just don’t have the extra money to spend right now... but I bet you know someone that WOULD love the product, or would be a perfect fit, and DOES have the extra money. Make sure you hook this girl up with your direct selling friend!

2. Spread the love on social media. Encouragement, kind words and sharing what your girl boss friends are up to is FREE. As long as you aren’t spamming your profile with it, a little shout out about your direct selling friend and how she is killing her biz (just earned another trip, say what?!) is kind, AND who knows, your Aunt Betty may see that post and just NEED that Tupperware bowl that’s on sale this week!

3. Ask to sample the product and do a review. Most direct sellers I know have a lot of extra product on hand and are more than happy to share a sample of their goods. Especially if it’s good product, they know you’ll fall in love with it, and then give rave reviews to all of your friends. I usually am not convinced on buying something until I’ve touched it, held it, and tried it. Then, of course, I NEED it. And testimonials from real people are priceless.

4. Cheer them on. When they post about being so close to their next step up, or they are super excited about selling x amount that month for an extra bonus check, be happy for them. Celebrate with them! They worked hard for that promotion, or extra cash and there’s nothing better than celebrating your hard work with friends that appreciate you!
