things i'm going to STOP doing
I recently read this article, and a few of her points really spoke to me.
Here are a few things I’ve attempted to STOP doing since.
1. Stop downgrading my accomplishments. I was recently promoted to Director with Tupperware, earning myself a car. It's a HUGE accomplishment, yet when someone congratulated me the other day, I said, "Thanks so much, they've actually made the requirements easier." WHY WOULD I SAY THAT?! Because I don't want to sound braggy or full of myself? What the hell? I worked my ass off to get to where I am, spending late nights working on my business, while everyone else is in bed. I NEED to start giving myself some credit already! I can bet that you do too!
2. Apologizing for everything. I find myself saying something, and then immediately apologizing. Or before I say something, leading with, "I might be wrong.. but .. " I find myself doing this when I'm around groups of people and talking about business. It's because I pretend (or have convinced myself) I don't know enough, but guess what, I really know. I need to stop doing this.
3. Answering text messages and facebook messages immediately. I work from home, so being disciplined to sit at my desk and actually get some work done is hard. It's even harder when I get 10 text messages in 2 hours, and I'm responding to all of them. It would do me well to leave the phone downstairs, close out of facebook, and really FOCUS on my work.
4. Waiting for the right time. The time is now. Whatever it is you want to do. Do it. That's why I'm writing this post. I'm not waiting any longer to pursue my passion to write. It doesn't matter who reads this, it matters that I wrote it.
What are some things you could STOP doing right now that might move you forward?
