jewelry swap + fill the purse project. I'm beyond humbled and so grateful for the help I have had in this service project I've been working on.

As most know, I love swapping. On March 19, Cat from Coffee Cat in Mason City, allowed us to use her space to swap some jewelry, accessories, and purses. It was a great afternoon.

What was even more great, is afterwards, I pulled 11 purses out of the donate pile, and put it out there on Facebook (in my private Swaportunity group) that I would like to fill these purses with toiletries for our local women's shelter. The response was amazing. So many women stepped forward and donated toothbrushes, combs, razors, lotions, deoderant, face wipes, tampons, and more. 

This experience has taught me so much. Most importantly it has shown me that there really is strength and power in numbers. I could not have done this alone. And as women, the opportunity to support and lift each other up is there, we just have to let go of our reservations and vulnerabilities, and be open to the possibilities.

This project is nearing completion, but this is far from over.

I'm inspired to keep giving.
