It's been over a month since my last gardening post. As per usual, as the fall is winding down, I tend to neglect my garden more and more. I continued to harvest broccoli up until that first big snowfall, but after that my #garden15 was shut down.

I didn't get my garden tilled before the snow, but that's ok. We will just till it up in the spring before we plant.

Reflecting back on the year I had with my garden, I realized it's taught me a lot: garden15

  • The more attention and tending you give a garden, the more it will give back to you. But even if you neglect it, it will still give back to you. All you have to do is plant it.
  • Gardens are as much work as you want them to be. You can plant a few tomato plants and herbs in pots, or you can go all out, whatever works for you.
  • Gardens are a great form of meditation.
  • Gardens are great exercise.
  • Gardens bring people together, whether it's planting, weeding, harvesting, preserving, or eating the produce.

garden15#2And the most important lesson I learned from my garden this year:

Take life (or your garden) as it is. Life isn't perfect. And gardens aren't either (especially mine!)

I can't wait for my #garden16. Planning begins now!
