tupperware tuesday: great auntie verna's hot fudge
So this might be a stretch for tupperware tuesday, but I've been looking for an excuse to talk about my favorite hot fudge recipe. I store the butter used in the recipe in my tupperware butter keeper, so that counts, right?!? And I used my tupperware whisk to stir it. :)
My great Aunt Verna was the best. She was my Grandma Arlene's sister, and best friend. She was 98 when she passed, and it was the night before we lost Baby David. She was and is so special to me. My Grandma Arlene died when I was 2, and Verna helped me feel close to my Grandma, even though I never really knew her.
I don't think it was a coincidence that she left us the same time we lost David.
I have always loved making her hot fudge topping, but now, it means even more.
Great Auntie Verna's Hot Fudge Topping:
1/4 c margarine (I use butter)
1/4 c cocoa
1 c sugar
1/3 c milk
Cook until comes to boil, then add a splash of vanilla right before serving.
Eat over ice cream. Add nuts, bananas, peanut butter, berries, whip, or sprinkles.
For only 2 servings: 1 Tbsp margarine (butter), 1 Tbsp cocoa, 1/4 c sugar, 1 Tbsp milk, dash of vanilla.
Eat ice cream with hot fudge, Auntie Verna would want you to.
