Today is my Grandma's 90th birthday.

She is still as spunky and active as ever.

I asked my sister to describe my grandma and she said,

"How many 90 year olds do you know that still live in their large family home (big enough to raise 9 kids!), ride a moped, give up bourbon for lent, enjoy hosting lunch/brunch for their friends, picked up the saxophone in their late 80s, and play 500 (or in my grandma's case--cheat)?"

This is a great description of my grandma, but I would not want to leave out that she is an avid Hawkeye fan (her ford escape has Hawkeye plates), a devout Catholic woman (loves to spend weeks at the convent in Wisconsin), a nurse and caregiver, a lifeguard, an organist, and the list goes on.

I am so thankful we are spending her 90th birthday at Lake Washburn with all 9 kids and a whole swarm of grandkids (70+ of us!).
