summer of music update.

On June 1st, I blogged about the summer of music (aka our plan to hit up as many concerts as we could this summer). I'm happy to report, it's going well.  Some things haven't turned out exactly as planned but surprise concerts have popped up in the meantime.

So far this summer we have seen:

// Billy Bob Thornton at the Surf Ballroom--WEIRD, but I thoroughly enjoyed Brian Setzer before Billy Bob.

//  Tree Town Festival: Blake Shelton, Dierks Bentley, Lee Brice, Eli Young Band--read about that here.

// George Thorogood (Surf Ballroom) June 2.

// The River Bash where we were going to see Eric Church got cancelled because of flooding in Des Moines, so that was a bummer.

//  We had planned to see Kellie Pickler at the Surf Ballroom July 2, but decided not to go at the last minute.

//  We would have enjoyed the blues at the Bikes Blues and BBQ, however Lena was a week old and was very scared of the loud music.

// Sir Mix A Lot at the surf ballroom on our 2nd anniversary

//  The Nadas (Air Show) July 26 (See my post about the air show here.)

We have one more "concert" on the agenda.  We're going to Chicago mid August to attend a garden center conference and the Gin Blossoms are performing...

"Hey, Jealousy..."
