iPhone organization
I'm reading "Better than Before" by Gretchen Rubin, and it got me thinking a lot about how I have my days set up to support my habits, good or bad. This topic has always been really interesting to me. If we want to set up a good habit, it helps to set up our environment to support that good habit. I want to practice yoga more at home. So I designated a room in my house strictly for yoga, somewhere I can leave my yoga mat unfolded and ready for me. Because you know what? If it's not already set up, it just seems like so much work to unroll it and roll it back up when I'm done. (I know...silly.)
I really started thinking about how my environment affects all areas of my life. Like my iPhone.
How I have my phone organized, affects how I use it, which affects the things I'm spending my energy on. I am on my phone a lot. Probably more than necessary but I'm active on social media and I really love to take pictures and share them.
Too many pictures or apps without organization can be a bad thing. Too much makes me feel like I'm drowning.
I took some time the other day to organize my iPhone.
On my main page I put the apps I want to spend more time with. My camera, photos, photo editing apps, my music, podcasts, notes (to keep track of all my blog ideas), the App Store, and the settings. I also use my calculator a lot for work, so I put that somewhere I can access it easily.
Then I moved all of my social media and natural plus apps to a page. But not my main page. Notice email is on that page. I am taking a step back from emails, and putting it on the second page keeps me from habitually opening the email app when I look at my phone.
I moved all the apps that I don't use but aren't quite ready to delete (or can't delete) to the back page.
After getting organized I started thinking, I bet there are a lot of apps out there that are super helpful and might make my life and my attempts at organization a whole lot easier.
What are your favorite apps?
