And so it begins..
We will soon be moving into Dave's parents house (Oct 12 & 13) and have some ideas on how to make it our own. Of course, we have big dreams, but here are a few things we can afford to change right now.... We spent $600 in Menards the other night on flooring for 3 rooms, and have begun the process of picking out paint colors. To get started, we plan to do 2 upstairs bedrooms, the upstairs bathroom, and the mudroom (flooring and paint), and paint the kitchen. >> UPSTAIRS BATHROOMWe will pull up the carpet, and put new tile flooring in. I haven't picked out a color for the bathroom walls yet, but one wall will have to be wallpapered because it has paper underneath that is impossible to get off. I will probably stick to grays, blacks and whites, since that seems to be our style.Possibly some stripes?!?>> MUDROOM
The "mudroom" is the room off the garage that Dave's parents have used as a "work room." We are going to pull up the carpet, put in some laminate flooring, paint it yellow (?!!?), move in the washer and dryer and put in a utility sink. This is where we will put all of our muddy clothes and boots and possibly store our shoes.
I am not sure if I will try to paint the cabinets, however I will be replacing the hardware on them. I plan to get some funky or patterned curtains to liven it up.
>>KITCHENWe are budgeting for a movable island from Ikea:I envision the kitchen being a very clean white.Who knew there were so many shades of white?!?
